The 2nd edition of the “MY PUPPET THEATRE” competition

World Puppet Theatre Day is celebrated every year on March 21, and the Arcadia Troupe of the Regina Maria Theatre has thoroughly prepared for the celebration.

Thus, it proposes the second edition of the "My Puppet Theater" contest, which will take place on Sunday, March 19, at 11:00 AM, at the Arcadia Hall, challenging the little spectators to become set designers, directors and actors themselves.

Children aged 6 to 12 are invited to embark on a creative adventure, where they will be able to swap roles with those who bring stories to life on the theater stage for a day. Before that, they just need to use their skills to make their own puppets, and their infinite imagination to create, from a to z, a skit of maximum 5 minutes. The skits can be fragments of fairy tales, stories, poems, fables, songs, as well as their own creations, and participants can present themselves either individually or in teams of up to ten people.

To make puppets, puppeteers recommend the following objects: socks, cut-out figurines, costumed wooden spoons, pet toys, packaging, paper, textiles, vegetables, fruits, plasticine, any household objects that can miraculously transform into characters. The jury will be made up of the actors of the Arcadia Troupe, and participants will be rewarded according to their talent and ingenuity. The competition registration fee is 5 lei/person, and registrations are made by filling out the following online form (the form will be accessible from the Arcadia Troupe's Facebook page, in the event created especially for this competition): https://goo.gl/ncjXUI

At the same time, this year's edition comes with an extraordinary surprise for both children and parents, the theater artists will hold three workshops through which they will thoroughly prepare the little creators for the competition. The first two workshops, dedicated to puppet construction, will take place on March 14 and 15, from 2:00 PM, at the Arcadia Hall and will be held by the set designers and props of the Regina Maria Theater, and the third workshop, dedicated to puppet handling, will take place on March 16, from 2:00 PM, at the Arcadia Hall and will be held by the actors of the Arcadia Troupe. Registration for the workshops is done by filling out the following online form (the form will be accessible from the Arcadia Troupe's Facebook page, in the event created especially for this competition): https://goo.gl/YvS8TR, and the participation fee for a workshop is 15 lei/person. Please note, participation in the workshops is not a mandatory condition for participation in the competition.

Places are limited, so we urge you to register as soon as possible for the activities proposed by Arcadia Troupe. The deadline for registration for the competition is March 15, and for the workshops you can even register on site, but we advise you not to delay too long, as there are only 20 places/workshop. For more information, please follow Arcadia Troupe's Facebook page.

We look forward to seeing you!
