Artistic director: Dan Alecsandrescu<\/strong> The action of the play "Secunda 58" is set on a socialist energy construction site, whose employees evolve at the pace of construction. Banu Mare\u015f, engineer and construction site manager, is about to leave his wife and child for a new love that appears in his life, in the person of Domnic\u0103 Rotaru. \u015etefan Mare\u015f, his brother, is on the verge of moral collapse. All are put in a situation of radically choosing their path in life. To determine the psychological evolution of the characters, the author uses the technical accident as a symbol: a malfunction, a power outage. For companies that receive electricity from this source, any interruption longer than a minute can cause significant damage. The 58-second malfunction is repaired by the character whose moral premises least justified him to commit this saving act. The 58th second symbolizes the critical moment when seemingly unsolvable problems are clarified, the moment when, after a trial, the ultimate and irrevocable decisions are made.
