Queen Marie Theater Oradea

Actor

Date and place of birth: 26.11.1923, Tecuci

Studies: "ILCaragiale" Theater Institute, Bucharest, 1948

After starting his career at the National Theatre in Bucharest, he continued in Bacău, and in 1956 he came to Oradea. An intelligent and witty actor both on stage and in life, he played several roles on the Oradea stage – big and small –, his most important achievement being the role of Carol in „Ciocarlia” by Jean Anouilh. Vera Călin notes in her long review of the show „Ciocarlia”, the contribution of all the actors. After praising the performances of Eliza Plopeanu and Ion Marinescu, she notes the talent of Radu Reisel (Carol) and Ilie Iliescu (Wanwick). In 1963 he emigrated legally to Israel, where he continued his activity in Romanian and Hebrew until his retirement, without severing ties with his colleagues and friends in Romania. He was always a good man, gentle, caring, generous and kind, cheerful, optimistic.
