Phantom pain

by Vasilii Sigariev

The text by Vasilii Sigariev, a young Russian writer, tells the story of two guards working in a tram depot. On the shift of Dima, a student who took this job to study for college, Gleb, the guard from the other shift, appears, who comes with a drink and a desire for stories. Gleb tells him about life as a night guard, and even tells him the tragic history of the depot: the one whose shift Dima had taken died in an accident, and his wife, Olia, has since gone crazy. Any man who wears Vova's glasses, the dead man, will be seen by Olia as her husband.

Phantom Pains It is a hallucinatory and moving story about love and madness, tenderness and hope.
