COMPETITION REGULATIONS – WE ARE ALL A LITTLE DADA
The cultural calendar of 2016 is defined by the celebration of the centenary of the DADA artistic movement. In honor of such an important event, the Regina Maria Theater invites you to the performance “DADA CABARET”, by Matei Vişniec, directed by Anca Bradyou, which will premiere on Sunday October 23, from 7:00 PM, at the Great Hall, but also comes with a slightly bolder proposal: a Dadaist-style creative contest – WE ARE ALL A LITTLE DADA. We invite all those who want to enter more into the spirit of the cultural movement that revolutionized the 20th century to write a poem or create a show poster according to Dadaist principles.
- POETRY
The Dadaist aesthetic principle is one based on SHUFFLE, which is also reflected in the way the poems are composed. To write a Dadaist poem, all you have to do is:
Take a newspaper./ Take a pair of scissors./ Choose an article from the newspaper that is the length you want your poem to be./ Cut out the article./ Carefully cut out all the words that make up the article and put all these articles in a small bag./ Shake it gently./ Take out the words one by one, arranging them in the order in which you will extract them./ Copy them neatly. The poem will resemble you./ And here you have an infinitely original and gifted writer, with a delightful sensitivity, although, of course, misunderstood by vulgar people.
(Manifesto about weak love and bitter love – Tristan Tzara)
- POSTER
Dadaist performance posters are based on the same principle, the random nature of the image composition, using the art of collage. They can be sent both in electronic format and in physical format in Dada suitcase from the ticket agency.
For the poster text, we offer you some clues:
