A new season with major projects at Arcadia Troupe – TRM

The Arcadia troupe of the Regina Maria Theatre is preparing remarkable stories for the young spectators of Oradea in the new season. These will be staged by award-winning directors, who are returning to Oradea with enthusiasm, after having already staged other successful shows in the troupe's repertoire.

Rehearsals for the Arcadia Troupe's first project of this season have already begun, and the premiere of the show will take place on September 27, at the Arcadia Hall: "Thimble" after Hans Christian Andersen. The dramatization, lyrics and direction of the show are signed by Toma Hogea, who is in his second collaboration with the theater in Oradea after staging the text "A ray of sunshine" by Al.T. Popescu last season. The music is created by Cari Tibor, the choreography is done by Dimenyi Levente, the set design is signed by Emese Csuri, and the puppets are created by Răzvan Chendrean.

A complex creator, a director with an impressive track record of national and international awards, author of essential volumes on the art of puppetry and beyond, Hogea Toma proposes a Music Hall-type production, full of vitality and freshness. The director brings to the fore, in a new, vivid and modern light, one of the most beloved classic titles for children, in a show that will captivate audiences of all ages.

In November, the youngest viewers of Oradea will find out about his adventures. "Chipi, this giant dwarf". The story of Fodor Șandor is dramatized and staged by director Iulian Bulancea, who is in his fourth collaboration with the Arcadia Troupe. The show explores with sensitivity and humor the theme of courage, showing how intelligence, friendship and kindness can transform a seemingly fragile character into a true hero. It is a moving and imaginative story, dedicated to both children over 4 years old and their parents.

December brings the first One Man Show to the Arcadia troupe's repertoire. Produced in partnership with the "George Enescu" National University of Arts in Iași, the show "The Blue Bird" by Maurice Maeterlinck is coordinated by director Ciprian Huțanu, prof. dr. of the prestigious educational institution. Ciprian Huțanu returns to Oradea for the third time, consolidating the collaboration with the Arcadia Troupe team, after coordinating two workshops and carrying out the projects "The Bremen Town Musicians" and "The Selfish Giant".

Moreover, the success of the production "The Selfish Giant" continues to be confirmed outside the borders of the Oradea theater. After the production was selected in June for the 21st edition of the Puck International Theater Festival, Cluj Napoca, the beginning of the 2025-2026 season brings two invitations for this show, to the International Animation Festival "Under Merlin's Wand", Timișoara, and to the International Gala of Puppet Theaters "Fireflies - 80", in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova.

 "Spring Awakening" Festival

The year 2025 will end with a festival dedicated to young audiences, children and teenagers alike, which will take place between December 11-16. The event will be organized by both troupes of the Regina Maria Theatre and will include, in addition to invited performances from across the country, the premiere of the show "Spring Awakening", a production made in collaboration with young teenage actors who participated in the TRM Teens program and prepared during the season with the actors of the Iosif Vulcan Troupe. The show will bear the directorial signature of Bobi Pricop and will be an adaptation of the original text by Frank Wedekind. During this festival, the audience of the Arcadia Troupe will enjoy guest productions from the most important animation theaters in Romania.

Until then, children and parents are invited to participate in the shows that are part of the September program, including the premiere of the show "Degețica", for which they can purchase tickets on the Regina Maria Theater website: www.teatrulreginamaria.ro/program
