Barb, Alice

Artistic director
Date and place of birth: 14.02.1963, Hunedoara
Studies: University of Theatre and Cinematography "ILCaragiale" Bucharest, 1997, class of Prof. Cristian Hadjiculea
Since his college days (he started by studying acting), he has collaborated with important directors (Liviu Ciulei, Cătălina Buzoianu), on valuable performances, in prestigious theaters (National Theater Bucharest, "Bulandra" Theater Bucharest).
She was employed at the Mundi Theater, but she also staged plays in numerous theaters in Bucharest and around the country.
In 1998, for a short time, Alice Barb was employed by the Oradea State Theatre. She staged Beaumarchais' comedy "The Barber of Seville" here. It seems that the choice was hers, her plea in the program booklet, to argue the choice, being particularly convincing. The idea that the audience needs a little relaxation, a funny love story, told with grace and elegance, with Rossini's music, justifies the comedy's presence on the bill.
The show was well received by the public, and no less by the critics who managed to see it. Dumitru Chirilă praised the young director who, he says (in the magazine Familia): "proves to be a good creator of images, and there is no shortage of comic effects.".
She proved to be a talented, innovative and demanding director.
