He debuted in the 1984/1985 season in Oradea – where he came together with the very young director Alexandru Darie, also a debutant. He was the assistant director and played the role of the Priest in the play "The Gates" ("The Bright Week") by Mihai Săulescu. The play, part of a coupé with "Water" by Dumitru Solomon (directed by Victor Ioan Frunză), was presented at the Short Theatre Week in Oradea. He stood out for his leading roles: Mincu in the remarkable and controversial show "Jolly Joker" by Tudor Popescu and, especially, the role of Mozart in "Amadues" by Peter Shaffer, both directed by one of the most talented directors, Alexandru Darie, today appreciated not only nationally, but also internationally. About Mozart, Performed by him, here is what the critics wrote after the premiere: "Through Cristian Şofron's deeply engaging performance, with an undeniable personal charm, the demonstration of the piece, as well as that of the show, are happily fulfilled, in a necessary and dynamic balance of forces, the lasting joy of the spirit, occasioned by a genuine theatrical event." (Victor Parhon) Today he is an actor at the "Nottara" Theater in Bucharest. He was, for a time, artistic director at the Dramatic Theater in Constanţa and director of the Bucharest City Hall.
