A graduate, like his wife, Mariana (his classmate), Dorin Presecan came to the State Theatre of Oradea in 1986. "For a young actor," he declared then, "the collective in which he develops matters a lot, the meeting with the directors." "In Oradea," he added, "I found an extraordinary concern for the growth of young actors.". A very pleasant presence, the tall young man, an elegant figure, blond-brown, sober, with a very beautiful, well-toned voice, Dorin Presecan announced himself capable of embodying the most varied dramatic characters, especially, but also comedy, so the arrival of the young couple (the Presecans) in the theater was obviously a definite gain. Dorin Presecan debuted, alongside Mariana Presecan, in the show "The Three Nights of Love", in a smaller role, but important in the economy of a show seen by many critics, and because Hubay Miklós was a distinguished writer known in Romania - being also from Oradea! - as the President of the Hungarian Writers' Union.

From the beginning, he played several roles appropriate to his age: Bill (in "The Crazy Holidays" by Carolyn Green), George Kettle (in "The Scandalous Connection..." by J.B. Priestley), Miroiu (in "The Nameless Star" by Mihail Sebastian), Charley (in "Charley's Aunt" by Brandon Thomas), Wyke (in "The Secrets of the Posket Family" by Artur W. Pinero), Filippo ("Marriage by Contest" by Carlo Goldoni), Gigi ("The Ladybug" by Ion Băieşu), Mahonkov ("The Adventures of Emil Braghinski), Mircea Aldea ("The Gaițele" by Al. Kirtițescu), Ştefan ("The Holiday Game" by Mihail Sebastian) - he was often Mariana's partner, the two of them going together on stage, as in life. About the two, in the show "Marriage by Contest", for example, the columnist Dumitru Chirilă writes in the magazine "Familia" that they are to be appreciated, in a "lively show, of a captivating naturalness". Apparently not very difficult roles, although none were born easy, the actor being intensely requested and, moreover, preparing meticulously for each one. Roles that prepared him for the most difficult ones, which would follow: Ferdinand ("The Tempest" by William Shakespeare), Jacques Dubois ("As You Like It" by William Shakespeare), The Commander ("Dom Juan" by Molière), Reporter ("Shoah. Primo Levi Version"), van Swieten ("Amadeus" by Peter Shaffer), Rică Venturiano ("A Stormy Night" by IL Caragiale), The Young Man ("Hey, Good People!" by William Saroyan), Miguel ("Birds' Cemetery" by Antonio Gala). Always attentive to psychological detail – and not only – Dorin Presecan was appreciated by critics for his role as Miguel in "Bird Cemetery", where he performed alongside colleagues with great stage experience (Ion Mâinea and Ion Abrudan). He played with pleasure and obvious professional interest and compositional roles, from the pretended Pasha of Vidin ("Cold" by Marin Sorescu), to the wise Father Zamfir ("Golden Forest" by Valentin Avrigeanu), the picturesque Kite of the Kites ("Sânziana and Pepelea" by Vasile Alecsandri), the funny Mr. Diofoirus ("The Imaginary Sick" by Molière) and even a Rabbit ("Over Seven Seas..." by Gheorghe Stana). He created a moving role, that of Pilade, in "Electra" and a sad and tender Ian ("The Misunderstanding" by Albert Camus). Regarding the multiple roles of the Balkan Men in the admirable show "Despre sexul femeii..." by Matei Vişniec, a columnist wrote that he supported his two colleagues (Mariana Presecan and Elvira Platon Rîmbu) with professionalism, finesse and deep understanding, managing to convey a clear and earth-shattering message from the hot zone of the Balkans.

With his well-toned voice, with his elegant figure, Dorin Presecan (and here he was, alongside Mariana) was present in almost all poetry performances (Mihai Eminescu, Ana Blandiana, Mircea Dinescu, etc.).

He continues to be useful in any role he is cast in, and even to surprise with the unusualness and originality of his stage appearances, at the "Radu Stanca" Theater in Sibiu.
