Mona Erhan debuted in Oradea in 1998, with roles, we would say, of some difficulty: if we think of that of the Lady in the show "The Maids" by Jean Genet, in which she promptly responded to the director's requests. Tall, imposing, she was truly a Lady who aroused not only respect, but also a certain fear in the two... criminal sisters. She then played the less important role, but with suspense: Pierette in "Is the Assassin Among Us?" ("Eight Women") by Robert Thomas, unfortunately, in a modest show.
Instead, he had relief in several roles in Ion Sapdaru's remarkable performance ("The Fantastic and Sad Story of the Candid Eréndira and Her Reckless Grandmother", dramatization of the short story by G.G. Márquez). She was also a well-defined Safta in "Conul Leonida faţa cu reacţiunea" by ILCaragiale, and an Old Woman – a well-made composition role – in the fairy tale Harap Alb, after Ion Creangă. Sober, extremely serious and disciplined, Mona Erhan also played, with dedication, several small roles, to which she gave consistency through the seriousness of her interpretation.
Cast in the extremely difficult role of Ivona in Witold Gombrowicz's "Ivona, Princess of Burgundy", Mona Erhan had the misfortune of not benefiting from the most appropriate directorial guidance. In a show born with numerous problems and unwanted changes in the directorial vision, Mona Erhan found herself in the difficult and thankless position of not knowing exactly what to do. Since such misunderstandings lead to mutual accusations, we will only note the precariousness of the arguments. When her employment contract expired, Mona Erhan opted for the Vienna Children's Theater. In Vienna, she is taking care of this generous Project - "Children Play Theater" - together with the prestigious director Sylvia Rotter. With children from schools in Oradea, she has so far created, together with her colleagues Angela Tanko and Şerban Borda, four very well-received shows: "As You Like It", "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "The Servant of Two Masters" by William Shakespeare and "The Imaginary Sick Man" by Molière.
