Queen Marie Theater Oradea

Actor

Date and place of birth: 24.01.1944, Timişoara

Studies: Institute of Theatre and Cinematography "ILCaragiale" Bucharest, 1969

He came to the Oradea Theatre as a graduate and stayed for only three seasons, after which he settled at the National Theatre in Timişoara. The option, whatever one may say, seemed in his favor. In fact, shortly after that, we were able to applaud him in the role of Ştefăniţă in the play "Viforul" by B.Şt.Delavrancea. In Oradea he elegantly performed (he had a very pleasant figure, of suitable stature, thin, fine, delicate), roles such as Algernon in the sparkling comedy "What It Means to Be Honest" by Oscar Wilde; a humorous Ionescu role from the one-act play "Three Doctors" - localization by Virginia Vlaicu (in the coupé show "The Gargoyles of Love"); Bernard in the acclaimed show "Death of a Salesman" by Arthur Miller; a mysterious Medvedenko, slowly discovering himself in the show "The Seagull" by A.P. Chekhov, or Wank in "The Disappearance of Galy Gay" by Bertold Brecht.

The Rică Venturiano he created ("A Stormy Night" by ILCargiale) went far beyond the caricature, showing sensitivity and enough humor to become a truly Caragiale character. He returned to Oradea as a collaborator in 1994, staging his own play: "Over Seven Seas and Seven... Fairy Tales". Intelligent, sensitive and discreet, probably not very healthy, Gigi, as we called him, took refuge in the world of shadows far too young.
