Studies: National College of Arts in Soroca (Republic of Moldova), acting and directing departments. In 1992 he obtained a scholarship at the Bucharest Academy of Theatre and Film. In 1995 he played at the Small Theatre in Cătălina Buzoianu's play, "The Seagull" by A.P. Chekhov, being also the second director. He then signed important plays: "The Emigrants" by Slawomir Mrožek and "The Night Shelter" by Maxim Gorki. Graduate of the Bucharest Academy of Theatre and Film, Specialization: Theatre Directing, Class of Prof. Univ. Cristian Hadji-Culea.

Vitalii Lupaşcu opted for the Oradea State Theatre with the intention of establishing himself more quickly in the field of directing. In 1997 he directed and dramatised a good show – "Dog's Heart" based on the short story by Mikhail Bulgakov (Gogoloi's performer, Petre Panait, won the award for best male performance at the 11th edition of the Short Theatre Week, and Vitalii Lupaşcu won the award for the most interesting stage adaptation). Even though the critics had some reservations regarding the "decalibration" or the length of some scenes, they acknowledged that the show still had an indisputable quality: it did not betray the Bulgakovian text and spirit, with its special humour, and it worked very carefully and rigorously with the actors.

In the performance "The Venetian Anonymous" by Giuseppe Berto, he collaborated well with the two performers: Elvira Platon Rîmbu and Doru Fîrte, but his directorial vision seems not to have inspired or convinced them enough, as they had, as Mircea Morariu wrote, "a somewhat school-like air".

After leaving Oradea, he staged several good shows at the "Elvira Godeanu" Theater in Târgu Jiu (the show "The Last Emperor" by Valentin Nicolau, in 2003, being awarded for best direction, set design and male performance), at the State Jewish Theater in Bucharest.

He worked for a while (2002-2009) at Romanian Television, then at the "Vasile Alecsandri" National Theater in Iași, where he directed the show "Quartet" by Ronald Howard.
