„"The Underpad" is a comedy of manners whose action is organized around a block of flats, with the mentalities and customs of the residents of all kinds. The play is a mosaic of jokes, puns, soap operas, moments that could have even been constituted as independent skits, transfigurations of situations, relationships and human characters easily found in the immediate vicinity. The desire for success, the pursuit of selfish well-being, pettiness, false culture are satirized with verve and humor. The musical dimension of the play is added to the savory humor, each couplet being intended to complete and enrich the character or situation to which it is associated. Although no corrective solutions or moralizing lessons are given, contact with the depicted world is apt to give rise to some question marks in the consciousness of the audience who is presented with the more or less pleasant comedy of daily life.
