CHOKING (DIARY OF A CHRONIC SUICIDE)*

Meet Victor Mancini: a young man in his thirties searching for his own identity. A former medical student, Victor dropped out of college to care for his ailing mother.

He now works at a theme park with his friend Danny. They know each other from the sex addicts' meetings, which he attends more to find new partners than to try to control his sexual impulses. However, the money he earns does not cover the monthly amount he has to pay to the sanatorium where his mother is admitted.

Motivated by this situation, he begins to supplement his income by defrauding, through an ingenious trick, the customers of luxury restaurants. All these people, unaware of each other's existence, end up contributing to the unusual existence of an individual who manipulates them from a distance: this Victor, whose defective childhood materializes in a deranged adult, who searches for himself by trying to wrest coherent information from his demented mother.

Beyond the obvious limits of his morality, Victor hides a heightened thirst for love, to quench which he resorts to extreme and unconventional methods. Choking under the gaze of others represents the need for attention, but especially the desire to feel that there is someone who cares, for whom he, the defect, matters even for a few seconds, even at the cost of his life.
