The big new train station

Comedy in three parts by Victor Frunză
Absolute premiere

Artistic director: Otto Szombati Gille
Scenography: I. Géza Bíró
Premiere date: May 22, 1976

Through the show "The Great New Station", the author puts the Romanian realities of the time under the sign of absurdity. The construction of a train station in a provincial town is a remarkable event. Large, luxurious, a true architectural jewel, the station has no flaws at first glance. The entire play is built around the inauguration festivities of the new station, a chain of comic situations and hilarious incidents. The ending, however, reveals that no railway passes near the new station...
