The play "Nota zero la portare" brings to the fore a familiar environment, often encountered in dramatic literature, but which always retains its note of tenderness, candor and exaltation: high school. It presents school pranks and pranks, the shyness of first confessions, the pain of real defeats and the persistent concern for one's own future.

Beyond these, the action of the play, set in the first months after August 23, 1944, reflects some of the tension of those days. The arrival of a new Utecist colleague disrupts old relationships and customs. In its entirety, the play is imbued with revolutionary romanticism and contains, as director Valeriu Moisescu notes, a fragment of the struggle of communists and Utecists in school against reaction.
