A remarkable debut on the Romanian stage is made by the young director Alexandru Weinberger-Bara with the show Miss Julia staged at the "Regina Maria" Theater in Oradea. It is an essentialized, thrilling Strindberg, with a tense plot treated in the spirit of the Swedish playwright. The analytical introspection into the psychology of the characters is ensured by the play of experienced actors with an obvious capacity to exhibit the inner world of the play's heroes. Critic Claudiu Groza says that it is "about the (almost) impossible escape from oneself" of the captive and rival lovers at the same time, fallen prey to devouring passion. In a short nonverbal incipit, Iulia and Jean threaten each other with pistols pointed at each other, announcing the fever of the conflict.

The set created by Vioara Bara is simple and suggestive: a wall of cubes representing order will soon be partially demolished by the participants of the Sânziene party, who invade the stage at a certain point. The young partygoers are Raluca Georgiana Costa, Anda Patricia Uivaroşi, Şerban Ionuţ, Nadina Urs. They trample on tradition to the rhythms of disco music. Symbolically, the disorder is given by the harsh conflict within the love triangle and the representatives of the two social classes represented by the lackey Jean and the noblewoman Iulia. An impossible love, ending tragically in the house of passionate spirits.

Visually, the show is well constructed. Behind the wall of cubes, through the crack made, the symbol of ugliness appears on a red background, like the blood on Jean's hands, after he kills Iulia's scat. Anda Tămăşanu envelops Iulia's sensitivity in the unbridled passion of a fierce woman. The oscillations of the lackey Jean between passion and misogyny, between screeching arivism and unwavering obedience to his master are manfully supported by the unhesitating play of Sorin Ionescu, an actor fully aware of his artistic potential. Another face of obedience to ancient rites is exposed by Lucia Rogoz in the role of the cook Kristin. The performances of the three actors are flawless, imposing a sober structure on the theatrical discourse as a whole.

Miss Julia Directed by Alexandru Weinberger-Bara, it is a mature, well-coordinated show, focused on the actors' performance.
