Musical, cabaret and comedy at the Regina Maria Theatre: "The Cage of Fools"
The Regina Maria Theater announces the premiere of the show COLIVIA NEBUNER, by Jean Poiret, directed by Daniel Vulcu, which will take place on Friday, December 16, at 7:00 PM at the Great Hall.
Jean Poiret, by his original name Jean-Gustave Poiré (August 17, 1926, Paris – March 14, 1992, Paris), is a big name in French cinema and theater. He was a theater and film actor, author of numerous plays and scripts that were transformed into successful films. He worked in collaboration with great directors such as François Truffaut (Le Dernier Métro) and Claude Chabrol (Inspecteur Lavardine), leaving behind many memorable roles. Regarding his work in theater, Jean Poiret remains known as an important representative of boulevard theater. He wrote and performed several successful plays, the most famous of which are: The cage of fools, Happy holidays! and Duck with oranges.
The cage of fools (The cage of fools) is the text that established him as an author, through which he returns to the source of his comic verve: cabaret humor. The original production of the play took place at the Théâtre du Palais-Royal on February 1, 1973, with Jean Poiret himself in the cast, who played one of the main roles. The comedy was enthusiastically received by critics, which had over 2,000 performances over time, inspired several films and was adapted into a Tony Award-winning Broadway musical.
Georges, the manager of a flamboyant drag club, and Jeannot, the club's star performer, have been happily married for 15 years in Saint-Tropez. When their son decides to get married, the gay couple is faced with an unexpected challenge: will the fiancée's ultra-conservative parents accept their orientation, or should they lie to them?
Musical, moving, captivating and astonishing, the show "Colivia Nebunelor" is a comic masterpiece about love and preconceptions.
In Oradea, the show "Colivia nebunelor" is staged by Daniel Vulcu, and the creative team also includes Răzvan Chendrean (set), Oana Cernea (costumes), Dimény Levente and Nadin Törteli (choreography) and Lăcrămioara Deac (musical preparation).

The cabaret also includes young actors from Oradea Tudor Manea, Cosmin Petrut and Paul Tripon, recent graduates, who are stepping onto the stage of the Regina Maria Theater for the first time.
The premiere is already sold out, and the next performances of the show will take place on December 20, January 12 and 25, from 7:00 PM, at the Great Hall.
The show is not recommended for people under 16 years of age!
Tickets can be purchased from the theater agency (open Tuesday and Thursday: 12:00-18:00, Wednesday and Friday: 10:00-14:00 and Saturday between 11:00-13:00) online at Eventim.ro or one hour before the show from the Regina Maria Theater Agency, within the limit of available seats.
