NOMINATIONS AND AWARDS AT THE 2016 UNITER AWARDS GALA
The nominations for this year's UNITER Gala awards were announced today, March 1, 2016. The selection jury of the UNITER Awards Gala, composed of theater critics Claudiu Groza, Doina Papp and Cristina Rusieck, designated the nominations in the categories: Debut, Best Radio Theater Show, Best TV Theater Show, Theater Critic Award, Best Set Design, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Direction and Best Show.
The Regina Maria Theatre is delighted to announce that actor Richard Balint is among the nominees in the category Best Actor in a Leading Role, for the role GORGE from the show "THE RITUAL MURDER OF GORGE MASTROMAS" (by Dennis Kelly, artistic direction by Bobi Pricop), alongside Florin Piersic Jr and Marian Râlea.
The talented actor from Oradea is on his second nomination, after the one he received in 2006, for the role Doctor Caius in "THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR" after William Shakespeare, stage direction Victor Ioan Frunză.
The good news doesn't stop here, however, and the joy of the theater is completed by Special Award for a Life Dedicated to Theater and Poetry, awarded to actor EUGEN ŢUGULEA by the UNITER Senate. Eugen Ţugulea has been honoring Romanian theater for more than 60 years, during which time he has given life to exceptional characters on the stage of the Regina Maria Theater.
This special merit is joined by his love for poetry, being endowed with a virtue that perfects his artistic personality, that of reciting. Thus, through his skill and special respect dedicated to verse, he revived poetry on the stage of the Oradea theater.
The UNITER Awards Gala, now in its 24th edition, will take place on Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Great Hall of the "Regina Maria" Theater in Oradea.
