PARTICIPATION IN THE SIBIU INTERNATIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL

After 11 years since the last participation of the Oradea theater at the Sibiu International Festival, with the show electrically Directed by Mihai Măniuţiu, the Iosif Vulcan Troupe returns to the prestigious festival program to support two performances of the show  In the Heart of the Night - Episode Hamlet. Based on a script by Gavriil Pinte, with additions by George Banu and Monique Borie, and directed by Gavriil Pinte, the show enjoyed success and critical acclaim since its premiere.

A project inspired by Supervised scene  and  At night FROM The Removal Trilogy by George Banu and The Phantom or Doubt of the Theater by Monique Borie, but also from Gavriil Pinte's experiences in recent years – from his projects in more or less unconventional spaces, In the Heart of the Night - Episode Hamlet  received the appreciation of specialists and was awarded as the best show of the Oradea Short Theatre Festival, organized at the beginning of the season. It also received the award for the best scenography belonging to Roxana Ionescu. With these special references, the show was invited to participate this year at the Sibiu International Theatre Festival. The performances are scheduled to take place on June 16 and 17, 2015, in the Great Square of Sibiu, on the mobile stage, from 10:00 p.m.

The Sibiu International Theatre Festival is considered the most important festival of its kind in the country. Now in its 22nd edition, the event takes place from 12 to 21 June 2015. The festival brings together participants from 70 countries in the 427 events scheduled. The Oradea troupe is proud to be part of the guest list, especially since the renowned festival features the best performances in the country - creations of the most talented and renowned directors - and also includes big names in theatre from abroad: Andrzej Seweryn, Poland's greatest actor and theatre director, the German playwright Renate Knlett, and the headliners are the Polish show Courtney Love and the Greek one- Iliad.

Also in Sibiu, the Regina Maria Theatre will also participate in the Performance Exchange, where meetings will take place between artists, companies and directors of theatres, festivals and cultural organisations. The Sibiu Performance Exchange will bring together the most important cultural operators in the field. The Oradea theatre will be represented at the event by its general manager, Daniel Vulcu, who also holds the position of director of the Oradea International Theatre Festival (FITO). The invitation addressed to him and his participation are due to the consistent and sustained management that led this year to FITO being included within the European network Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe (EFFE).

EFFE is an initiative of the European Festivals Association and represents a network of festivals that stand out for their artistic quality and the impact they have at local, national and international levels.

The FITO application was evaluated by national experts and then approved by the International Festival Jury at the meeting of the European Festivals Association on May 8, 2015. This year, 896 festivals from 32 European countries applied.

During 2015-2016, FITO will benefit from the EFFE label, which brings added visibility and recognition of the quality and value of the event.

FITO will also be included in the EFFE festival guide – which means an extended audience from the public, artists, professional organizations, public authorities, sponsors, private companies and the media. The interactive version of this guide will be launched this summer on the website http://www.effe.eu/, and the printed version will be launched at the EFFE Awards Ceremony, which will take place in September 2015.
