PRESS RELEASE | PREMIERE_Frederick the Mouse – I Know Who I Am –”

The Arcadia troupe of the Regina Maria Theatre is preparing a new premiere: "Frederick the Mouse - I Know Who I Am -", a show signed by Ana Crăciun Lambru, inspired by the famous book "Frederick" by Leo Lionni, whose team includes two artists who are often in the spotlight at the UNITER Awards Gala.

Ana Crăciun-Lambru is a puppeteer, actress and director, with a degree in animation theatre from the IL Caragiale Academy of Theatre and Cinematography in Bucharest. In 2016, she also obtained the title of Master of Fine Arts in Puppetry in the Puppet Arts Program at the University of Connecticut through a Fulbright scholarship and wins the award for best actress at the AnimArt World Puppet Carnival in Lodz, Poland with the show "Dust", the final project for obtaining the master's degree. Nationally, he already enjoys 2 nominations at the UNITER Awards Gala, in 2024 for the show "Alice in Wonderland" and in 2025 for "Zaharaşka and the Forgotten Snow" for the best animation theater show/children's theater.

The text "Frederick the Mouse - I Know Who I Am -" is inspired by the story "Frederick" by Leo Lionni, listed as a reference book for children and located in the top of the 1001 books that must be read in childhood. The script, rewritten by Ana Crăciun Lambru, preserves the narrative thread of the original story: a group of mice rigorously gather supplies for the winter, with the exception of Frederick, a dreamy mouse, who gathers colors and rays of sunshine, but is enriched by elements inspired by local realities. These were integrated following two workshops held in Oradea by the directors: one on storytelling, carried out together with school psychologist Ioana Drugaș, with the participation of parents and children, and another, dedicated to the actors of the Arcadia Troupe, focused on handling technique.

In every city I go to tell a story; the story is of that community, the story is of the city. In Oradea, when I arrived, I started talking to people here, even people from the theater, and their confessions and everything I discovered in the workshop with the parents and in the workshop with the actors, all their stories, all the emotions entered the script and support it, confesses Ana Crăciun Lambru.

The show offers a complex theatrical experience, combining various handling techniques, original music and video-mapping elements, which complete the scenography and support the story. The main message of the show is a profound and universal one: it urges children to have the courage to follow their dreams and invites adults to reconnect with their authentic selves, even when the chosen path is not understood by others.

The show's scenography is by Alexandra Budianu, who was assisted by scenographer Emese Csüri. The puppets are made by Răzvan Chendrean and painted by Ana Crăciun Lambru, using a special technique acquired in the USA. Mădălina Baciu contributed as a production assistant for puppets and props.

The creative team is completed by the renowned composer Cári Tibor, awarded with two UNITER awards, the video-mapping is done by Radu Marțin and Andrei Cozlac, and the lighting design is conceived by Peter Papp. The script benefited from the dramaturgical consultancy of Florin Tudose.

The cast of the show includes the following actors: Armanca Serac, Alexandru Pop, Florian Silaghi, Consuela Egyed, Andrei Fazecaș, Alexandru Crefelean and Igor Lungu.

The premiere takes place on April 26, at 6:00 PM, at the Arcadia Hall, and all tickets are already sold out. The next performances are scheduled for May 6, 7 and 18, at 6:00 PM, at the Arcadia Hall. Tickets can be purchased at the Regina Maria Theatre agency (Piața Regele Ferdinand I, no. 6) and online, on the Poftim Cultură platform.

We look forward to seeing you at the theater!
