The Iosif Vulcan troupe of the Regina Maria Theatre recently returned from one of the most prestigious theater festivals in the country: the Craiova International Shakespeare Festival, which reached its 11th edition this year, where it participated with the show "In the Heart of the Night - Macbeth Episode", a script based on William Shakespeare by Gavriil Pinte, with inserts from George Banu and Monique Borie, directed by Gavriil Pinte.

The performance of the Oradea troupe took place on Friday, April 27, on the mobile stage located in Mihai Viteazul Square, starting at 9:30 PM, and was a real success. The audience delighted us both with the large number of people present, those who no longer had seats in the stands watching the show with the same enthusiasm from around the stage, and with the incessant applause with which they rewarded the actors at the end of the performance.

Also, the show was attended by an impressive number of critics and theater personalities – among whom we recall Maria Zărnescu, Octavian Saiu, Mircea Morariu, Mariana Ciolan, Ludmila Patlanjoglu, Ion Parhon, Emil Boroghină – guests from abroad, directors and members of the participating troupes and special guests of the festival. We were also honored with our presence by the great theater scholar George Banu, who collaborated with director Gavriil Pinte on the script of the show “In the Heart of the Night – The Macbeth Episode”. Their reaction was positive, applauding and congratulating the team for the realization of the project.

This is not the first time that the Regina Maria Theatre has participated in the world-renowned Craiova festival. At the 10th edition, we had the honor of participating with the show "In the Heart of the Night - The Lear Episode", which was also a success. And, as a start to a tradition, both shows, "The Lear Episode" and "The Macbeth Episode", had their premiere at this festival.
