SUMMER MICRO-SEASON AT THE REGINA MARIA THEATRE
The doors of the Regina Maria Theatre reopen and the curtain rises in August for the summer micro-season. Theater lovers are invited to continue enjoying the summer season by watching performances for all ages and all tastes.
The first gong will ring Sunday, August 21, urging the young spectators to bravely set out on the paths of an immortal fairy tale: HANSEL AND GRETEL – by Hanyecz-Debelka Róbert, based on an idea by the Brothers Grimm, directed by András Szőke Kavinszki – from 11:00, at Sala Arcadia.
Thursday, August 25, from 7:00 PM, at the Great Hall, we are waiting for you for a delicious comedy, through which we will prove to you that historians were wrong, because NAPOLEON WAS… A GIRL! – an adaptation by Sică Alexandrescu after an American farce, directed by Andrei Mihalache.
Saturday, August 27, from 11:00, at Arcadia Hall, LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD sets off once again confidently towards her grandmother's house. But don't be afraid of the big bad wolf, because we have a needle in his coat. Adaptation based on Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm, directed by Maria Mierluţ.
Tuesday, August 30 and Wednesday, August 31, from 9:00 PM, on the mobile stage located in the Oradea Citadel, King Lear abdicates and divides his kingdom among his daughters: IN THE HEART OF THE NIGHT – THE LEAR EPISODE, a screenplay by Gavriil Pinte, with inserts by George Banu and Monique Borie, directed by Gavriil Pinte.
Thursday, September 1, from 7:00 PM, at the Great Hall, we have concrete proof that even MINISTERS TAKE ACTION – based on an idea by Ray Cooney, directed by Daniel Vulcu.
Saturday, September 3, from 11:00, at Arcadia Hall, STAN BOLOVAN – THE FEAR OF KNIGHTS invites the brave to help him overcome all the obstacles that will come his way – a dramatization by Maria Mierluţ after Ioan Slavici, under the artistic direction of Maria Mierluţ.
Thursday, September 8, from 7:00 PM, at the Great Hall, the Chekhovian characters in the show THE CHERRY ORCHARD await the final verdict: will the famous orchard, which was for a long time a space of a beautiful childhood and a source of local pride – a classic text by AP Chekhov, directed by Alexandru Dabija – be cut down or not.
Sunday, September 11, from 11:00, at Sala Studio Arcadia, we invite you to the PREMIERE of the show OMULEŢ – a script by Petronela Ionescu, directed by Delia Gavliţchi.
Wednesday, September 14, from 7:00 PM, at the Great Hall, you are invited to step into the imagination of the charming Alonso Quijana and set off with Don Quixote and his faithful squire, Sancho Panza, on an adventure full of adventures, watching the show THE MAN OF LA MANCHA - a musical by Dale Wasserman, directed by Gyorgy Korcsmaros.

On the 50th anniversary of the first theater festival in Oradea – Short Theatre Week, the Regina Maria Theatre announces the selection of the 10th edition of the Oradea International Theatre Festival (FITO), financed by the Bihor County Council, which will take place between 11–20 September 2026. This year's anniversary edition brings to the fore a broad and diverse program, built around the two already established sections: the 28th edition of the Short Theatre Festival and the 6th edition of the Arcadia Children's Theatre Festival, which resumes after an 8-year break. The program of performances will be supported by a series of other events that will transform FITO into a meeting place between artists, professionals in the field of performing arts and the public.
