UNITER AWARDS GALA 2016, IN ORADEA!

The Regina Maria Theatre is proud to announce that it will host the UNITER Awards Gala 2016. The UNITER decision was made after the management of the Regina Maria Theatre expressed its willingness to organize the gala and submitted its candidacy. The process began in 2013, when the Regina Maria Theatre prepared the necessary documentation. A condition in this regard was the support that the local and county administration will provide for the organization of the gala.

The argument was supported by several points:

– the value of the Regina Maria Theatre building

– the fact that the Oradea theater launched directors who have created brilliant careers over time (Victor Ioan Frunză, Alexandru Darie, Alexandru Colpacci)

– collaboration with big names in Romanian filmmaking (Alexandru Dabija, Mihai Măniuţiu, Alexandru Hausvater, Theodor Cristian Popescu, etc.)

– the nominations obtained at the Uniter Awards Gala and the participation in various festivals in the country and abroad

– the existence of a quality and constant audience for the shows (since 2011, since the reopening of the theater, over 70% of the shows have been played to a sold-out audience)

The argument being considered fair, UNITER members decided that next year's Gala would be organized in Oradea, benefiting from the full support of Oradea City Hall and Bihor County Council.

On the 50th anniversary of the first theater festival in Oradea – Short Theatre Week, the Regina Maria Theatre announces the selection of the 10th edition of the Oradea International Theatre Festival (FITO), financed by the Bihor County Council, which will take place between 11–20 September 2026. This year's anniversary edition brings to the fore a broad and diverse program, built around the two already established sections: the 28th edition of the Short Theatre Festival and the 6th edition of the Arcadia Children's Theatre Festival, which resumes after an 8-year break. The program of performances will be supported by a series of other events that will transform FITO into a meeting place between artists, professionals in the field of performing arts and the public.
