3rd edition of the "MY PUPPET THEATRE" competition„

World Puppet Theatre Day is celebrated every year on March 21, and the Arcadia Troupe of the Regina Maria Theatre is preparing for the celebration again. Young spectators are encouraged to become stage designers, directors and actors themselves, within the third edition of the "My Puppet Theatre" competition, which will take place on Sunday, March 18, from 5:00 PM, at the Arcadia Hall.

Children aged 6 to 12 are invited to be part of the team that brings the puppets to life in the performances of the Arcadia Troupe for a day. Before embarking on the artistic expedition prepared for them, those interested only need to give free rein to their imagination to make their own puppets, which they will have to arrange in a skit of maximum 5 minutes. The skits can be fragments of fairy tales, stories, poems, fables, songs, as well as their own creations, and participants can present themselves either individually or in teams of up to ten people.

To make puppets, puppet artists recommend the following objects: socks, cut-out figurines, costumed wooden spoons, pet toys, packaging, paper, textiles, vegetables, fruits, plasticine, any household objects that can miraculously transform into characters. The jury will be made up of the actors of the Arcadia Troupe, and the participants will be rewarded according to their ingenuity and creative effort. Registration for the contest is done by filling out the following online form (the form will also be accessible from the Arcadia Troupe's Facebook page, in the event created especially for this contest): https://goo.gl/bMmwqU

Participants' companions are invited to enjoy the artistic moments within the limits of the seats in the Arcadia hall, and the entrance fee is 5 lei/person.

Just like last year, the theater's artists will hold workshops to help the little participants prepare for the competition. The first workshop is dedicated to puppet construction and will take place on March 5, from 5:00 PM, at the Arcadia Hall and will be held by a set designer and a painter from the Regina Maria Theater, and the second workshop, dedicated to puppet handling, will take place on March 6, from 5:00 PM, at the Arcadia Hall and will be held by the actors of the Arcadia Troupe. Registration for the workshops is done by filling out the following online form (the form will also be accessible from the Arcadia Troupe's Facebook page, in the event created especially for this competition): https://goo.gl/1P2ECq, and the participation fee for a workshop is 10 lei/person. The registration deadline is March 2. Please note, participation in the workshops is not a mandatory condition for participation in the competition.

Places are limited, so we urge you to register as soon as possible. The deadline for registering for the competition is March 14, and you can even register for the workshops on site, but we advise you not to delay too long, as there are only 20 places/workshop. For more information, please follow the Arcadia Troupe Facebook page.

We look forward to seeing you!
