Dear colleagues! We invite you to register for the program of the Oradea International Short Theatre Festival, the only event of its kind in Romania, which this year reached its 22nd edition.
The event, organized and hosted by the REGINA MARIA Theatre in Oradea, will take place between September 25 and October 2, 2016. Registration begins today, March 1, 2016. We are looking forward to your proposals! For those interested in dramatic creation, we are also waiting for registrations for the Dramatic Creation Contest, launched in partnership with the Cultural Magazine "Familia", 2016 edition. The Regina Maria Theatre announces the premiere of the show "Deșteptarea", a contemporary text by Doru Vatavlui, directed by Bobi Pricop, which will take place on January 17 and 18, 2026, from 7:00 PM, in the theatre's Great Hall. The show is specifically dedicated to the adolescent audience, but is also addressed to parents, teachers and all those interested in how the digital world influences identity formation and relationships between generations.
PRESS RELEASE | Selection of the Oradea International Theatre Festival 2026
On the 50th anniversary of the first theater festival in Oradea – Short Theatre Week, the Regina Maria Theatre announces the selection of the 10th edition of the Oradea International Theatre Festival (FITO), financed by the Bihor County Council, which will take place between 11–20 September 2026. This year's anniversary edition brings to the fore a broad and diverse program, built around the two already established sections: the 28th edition of the Short Theatre Festival and the 6th edition of the Arcadia Children's Theatre Festival, which resumes after an 8-year break. The program of performances will be supported by a series of other events that will transform FITO into a meeting place between artists, professionals in the field of performing arts and the public.
