A NEW PREMIERE BY THE IOSIF VULCAN TRUP – BORDEL
We are pleased to announce a play with a provocative title BORDEL, by Gabriel Barylli. The 5th Premiere of the 2012/2013 Season also represents a first co-production of the Regina Maria Theatre in Oradea with a theatre from abroad: Friday, November 2, at 7 pm, in the Great Hall of the Theatre (show with the audience on stage).
The show, produced in collaboration with the Pygmalion Theater in Vienna, directed by Ţino Geirun, had its official premiere on July 12, 2012 in Vienna and was presented on September 29, 2012 at the International Short Theater Festival. The cast included Julia Prock Schauer and Daniel Vulcu. The Oradea cast includes Georgia Caprărin in the role of Mary and Daniel Vulcu in the role of Martin. For Georgia Căprărin it is the first role in the Iosif Vulcan troupe. Both the artistic direction, the set design and the musical illustration bear the signature of Ţino Geirun. The director of Romanian origin settled in Vienna in 1985 where in 1989 he founded the "Pygmalion" Theater Complex, consisting of the Theater Academy and the Theater of the same name.
The author of the play, Gabriel Barylli, is an Austrian writer, actor and director who is being performed on a Romanian stage for the first time.
BORDEL presents the story of Martin, a successful manager, who embodies the image of a professionally accomplished man. He lives the drama of the unfortunate man who has a lot of money, but not enough time for genuine and essential experiences. If he manages to withdraw for an hour from his hectic professional life and dedicate it to a woman, she must also live up to his expectations, with impeccable professionalism. Maria, it seems, will meet his expectations, being, according to the recommendation of his friend Ştefan, a perfect prostitute. He soon realizes his friend's strategy, because the meeting between the two will gain other dimensions. Behind the cardboard mask of the prostitute, Martin discovers the living and sensitive being that he has been looking for his entire life. The end of the play is shrouded in mystery. Will this meeting be prolonged into what implies a bond forever? Will social differences melt in the warmth of love? The last minutes of the meeting will be defining and will decide their common destiny.
Tickets are already on sale, both at the Ticket Agency and online. The price of a ticket is 15 lei. The next performance will take place on Friday, November 23, at 6 p.m.
