ARCADIA CHILDREN'S THEATRE FESTIVAL – 1ST EDITION, 2013

Between October 7-13, 2013, the first edition of the Arcadia Children's Theater Festival takes place in Oradea, an event included in the first edition of the Oradea International Theater Festival.

«"Being the first edition. It was a challenge to find guests. I invited performances from the country to Oradea that will certainly please children and parents. All performances take place at the Arcadia Hall", announced the festival director Florian Silaghi.
Parade and shows

The actors of the Arcadia Troupe will open the festival with the show Beauty and the Beast, but also with magic numbers presented by Eduard and Bianca.

The first performance of a troupe invited to the festival takes place on the very second day of the event. It is the Pinocchio show of the Arad Puppet Theatre, a 3D projection show, directed by Radu Dinulescu. „The puppets present in the show are string puppets, which are very difficult to handle, but the actors from Arad have extensive experience in puppetry techniques,” says the director of the Arcadia Troupe, Florian Silaghi.

On October 9, the actors of the Liliput Troupe from the Szigligeti Theater will take the stage, with Kormos in images, "a show made up of 3 stories by the author Kormos Istvan, presented in a very playful manner, with cheerful, very colorful sets," says Florian Silaghi.

During the first three days of the festival, from 5:00 PM, Oradea residents are invited to the Arcadia Troupe Puppet and Character Parade, a parade that takes place from the Crișul Store to the Arcadia Hall and during which the actors will appear in costumes specially made for this event, interact with children and present the puppets.

A day later, on October 10, the Ion Creangă Theater in Bucharest comes with a show dedicated to children up to four years old, a show carried out as part of a European project, created in partnership with a theater in Italy. "Semințe semi is a unique show because the spectators will sit on stage, next to the actors, and at the end they will interact with them. The actors play very close to the children, warmly, jovially, relying on images and sounds that can be perceived by children. After the show, the children will play with the dolls, with the decor," announced the festival director.

On Friday, at 5:00 PM, the book "On the Art of Romanian Puppeteers. Dialogues with Stage Masters" will be launched. "It is a book written by Toma Hogea, a professor and actor in Iași. A true, monograph, a history of professional animation theaters in the country, 19 in number. A book in four volumes, over 1,000 pages. I can say that Mr. Hogea spent three days alone at our theater, interviewing all the actors and collaborators. And he did the same with the other theaters in the country and in the Republic of Moldova," said the director of the Arcadia Children's Theater Festival. On Saturday, with two performances, at 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM, actors from the "Prichindel" Theater in Alba Iulia will take to the Arcadia stage with the show. The show The Little Musketeers combines object theater with puppet theater. Also with two shows, from 11:00 and 17:00, for the second time in a month, the Ţăndărică Theater Troupe comes to Oradea. „The Ţăndărică Animation Theater is the standard of puppet theaters.

Throughout the festival, the foyer of the Arcadia Hall will host an exhibition of puppets and scenographic sketches, signed by Paul Fux.

Tickets go on sale starting October 1 at the Theatre Agency, open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 7 pm, but also on weekends, from 10 am to 1 pm or online, on the website www.biletmaster.ro.» (Veronica Bursaşiu, Bihon, 02.10.2013)
