He came, together with his wife, through a reassignment, to the Oradea State Theatre. He was cast in the main role in the play "Simple coincidences" by Paul Everac, declared himself dissatisfied (the reason is unknown), and left for his hometown - Bucharest, then collaborating with the theatres in Brăila, Braşov, Botoşani. An admirable, intelligent and very sensitive reciter, with a clear inclination towards poetry (he also wrote), with the ever-living desire to surpass his condition as an actor, Mihai Velcescu will, over time, direct several beautiful poetry performances and more.
