The ten most famous sketches of the acclaimed Romanian writer IL Caragiale captured the ridiculousness, sometimes even the absurdity, of human relationships and the events that people go through with or without their will. The emphasis is on the anecdote, on the moment, and not on slipping into the story. “Caragiale’s moments and sketches are also lightning-fast snapshots or moments of life, that is, ephemeris fixed on the retina of eternity, but also situations or hypostases intentionally cut out for their exemplarity with regard to certain phases or stages of existence.” (Ion Vartic – “Analytical Dictionary of Romanian Literary Works”)

As projections of family and public life, Caragiale's sketches contain a great amount of historical truth, rendered by Oradea actors in this series of artistic miniatures, always current.
