Mr. Jurdan, an emphatic and naive spirit, is an extremely rich man, but who lacks something: the elegance of a person from high society. So, to be part of the high-class, he dresses according to the trends of the time, extravagantly decorates his house, makes "high-ranking" friends and hires an army of teachers to teach him the manners of a person of rank. However, the result of this whole equation cannot be other than a downright hilarious one. Ridiculous beyond measure, Mr. Jurdan goes from (pretending to be) noble, to the "court jester".

And when ignorance meets the pretense of erudition, everything turns into a comedy that will have you laughing out loud for minutes. A comedy of our times, which reflects the slippage of the opulence of some enriched people.

The action takes place in Romania, in Jurdan's house.
