Using simple language, with an unforced popular character, alternating verse — of the same folkloric inspiration — with prose, Alecu Popovici's play unfolds fluidly, respecting the narrative of the fairy tale with the same title, so familiar to us.

The management of the puppet theater was equally inspired when they chose the piece for the repertoire and when they gave the performance the character — required by the text — but emphasized with high-quality artistic means throughout its development. […]
