The lion's share

Comedy in three acts by Constantin Teodoru

Artistic director: Ion Marinescu
Scenography: Valeriu Moisescu
Premiere date: February 27, 1960

The play "The Lion's Share" depicts the unsuccessful attempt of some swindlers to abuse the common goods of society. Bartolomeu Moţoc, the deputy chief engineer, infiltrates a construction site by forging a diploma, and finds two accomplices on the spot. The three occupy the place of the lion (with his famous "share" in the winnings), the rat and the fox in the hierarchy of the fable. However, the people on the site notice their illegal actions and will tighten the circle around the three until they are completely exposed.
