The play "The Mad Lamb" by Aurel Baranga addresses a topical subject for the era in which it was written: bureaucracy and the danger that this obstacle represents in the way of the new, in the way of the initiatives of working people. The technical office of a large enterprise - the place where the action takes place - houses several bureaucrats who make life difficult for innovators. Their representatives are the head of the technical office, Toma Dumitrescu, the technical referent, Bontaş, the chief engineer Cristescu and others. At the antipode of these are the luminous figures of the play: the worker Spiridon Biserică, the secretary of the party organization, Dumitru Ionescu-Perjoiu and the cartoonist Maria, who are able to evaluate the former at their true value.
