Trick (Masked Snowmen)

Fairy tale with actors
Original text by Ion Lucian and Virgil Puicea after Ion Creangă
„"Success with the public followed them since the spring of this year, when, on April 25, a premiere, a show-event, of European scope, took place at the Romanian section. It is "Păcală", directed by Ion Mâinea, the scenography is signed by Oana Cernea. The novelty consisted in the fact that for the first time a theater-dance manner was approached, with folkloric overtones, including the soundtrack (Fraţii Petreuş, Gheorghe Zamfir)." (Loredana Nicoară, Crisana, (August 9, 2004)
„The biggest success of the year was the play «Păcală», after a show of the same name written by Ion Lucian. The show was directed by Ion Mâinea, and the set design was made by Oana Cernea. As a character, Păcală is very well known and exists in the oral literature of several peoples. In addition to these shows, the Theatre participated with the Romanian section at the Cluj festival, where it won the specialty award with «King Zorzon». (…) The Arcadia Theatre was a co-organizer of the Short Theatre Week that took place in Oradea last autumn. (Ciprian Zopota, information, 2004)
