CANCUN IN THE ARTISTS FOR ARTISTS CAMPAIGN

The Regina Maria Theatre joins this year the national campaign "Artists for Artists", supported by UNITER. The campaign, initiated in 2002, is an annual program, with continuous development, but which has its peak in the period March - April. The aim of this initiative is to raise public awareness in order to raise funds for elderly artists with livelihood and health problems from all over the country.

The Queen Maria Theatre show that will participate in this program is „"CANCUN", by Jordi Galceran, artistic direction Theordor Cristian Popescu, which will be played Thursday, March 24, from 7:00 PM, at the Great Hall. The amount from ticket sales will be redirected to the THEATRE SOLIDARITY FUND.

“Cancun” is the story of what happens when your dream vacation becomes the life you could have lived. Forming a couple, happiness and personal fulfillment often lie in the smallest decisions you make at a given moment.

Lifelong friends, Reme, Vicente, Laura and Pablo (two couples married for over 20 years) decide to spend their summer vacation in the beautiful resort of Cancun in Mexico. One night, after a few extra drinks and endless conversations, Reme confesses to his friends that their lives could have been different… completely different! The next morning everything is different – the landmarks in Reme’s life change.

An intriguing show, which combines elements of psychological thriller, with nuances of comedy, in which everything unfolds at a completely unexpected, even strange pace. Time, space, characters, all are constructed in such a way that they manage to play with our minds. Reality volatilizes and, subtly, we are introduced to a possible world: the perspective of what would have been if things had gone differently between the two couples.

Tickets are on sale at the theater's Ticket Agency from Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 19:00, and on weekends between 10:00 and 13:00. You can also purchase tickets one hour before each performance or online at www.biletmaster.ro. For additional information and ticket reservations, please call: 0259/440.742.

We are waiting for you at the theater!

On the 50th anniversary of the first theater festival in Oradea – Short Theatre Week, the Regina Maria Theatre announces the selection of the 10th edition of the Oradea International Theatre Festival (FITO), financed by the Bihor County Council, which will take place between 11–20 September 2026. This year's anniversary edition brings to the fore a broad and diverse program, built around the two already established sections: the 28th edition of the Short Theatre Festival and the 6th edition of the Arcadia Children's Theatre Festival, which resumes after an 8-year break. The program of performances will be supported by a series of other events that will transform FITO into a meeting place between artists, professionals in the field of performing arts and the public.
