Christmas in the Land of Dolls 2nd Edition – Charity Campaigns

"Christmas in the Land of Puppets" is a thematic event organized by the Arcadia Troupe of the Regina Maria Theater, which reached its second edition this year and will take place between December 12-18, 2023. Continuing the tradition of the first edition, children will be able to spend precious time with their parents, teachers, friends, enjoying meeting the most beautiful fairy-tale characters, entertaining and educational activities, all in an enchanting holiday setting.

The novelty of the second edition of the event is the humanitarian dimension it assumes, through two charitable campaigns created in partnership with DGASPC Bihor, through which we want to bring joy and hope to abandoned children who are in placement centers or family-type homes in Bihor county: "Fulfill a wish" and "A Christmas gift".
„"When we talk about Christmas, we think of family, kindness, hope, but also the fulfillment of wishes. Those who feel the magic of this holiday the most strongly are children. This Christmas, we invite you to be better and offer hope to children and adolescents to whom life has not been so generous." (Daniel Vulcu, manager, Teatrul Regina Maria)

The "Make a Wish" campaign is dedicated to children and adolescents in the placement centers of the DGASPC Bihor. The goal of this campaign is to offer the opportunity to children who do not enjoy the love and protection of a family to feel, even for a moment, that their wishes, of any kind, are listened to by someone, and that they also have the right to enjoy a little pampering:
„"Initially, we wanted to name the campaign "Children for Children", out of the desire to empower young viewers and educate them towards charity. Then we realized that, during the holidays, we remember to be better anyway. We are more willing to donate, to feed, to clothe, to unite in actions dedicated to disadvantaged families.
So we turned the charity campaign into a campaign of… sensitivity. We remembered the children and teenagers who have wishes at various special moments in their lives. The parents who strive to fulfill their dreams. And the children who have no parents. The institutionalized children within the DGASPC Bihor, the healthy, young ones, end up in the families of foster parents. They have the chance to feel that they belong, a verb that defines one of the basic emotional needs of the human being. A need that, psychologists say, is as important as the need for food or shelter. The sick and those over 11 years old, remain in placement centers until they come of age. We thought of them in this campaign. We asked them what they wanted for Christmas, and they allowed themselves to dream. What would we be willing to offer a child who already has a coat, a plate of food and shelter? But what about a teenager? Can we help him belong... to the big family of children who see their wishes come true? Many of them were good... you'll see. They wrote you a letter...", explains Andreea Costea, director of the Arcadia Troupe.

Children institutionalized in the placement centers of the DGASPC Bihor were invited to write a letter saying what they want for Christmas. The letters are uploaded to the campaign platform https://indeplinesteodorinta.ro/, where they can be read and chosen by those who want to fulfill the children's wishes. The gifts will be centralized at the Regina Maria Theater until December 15 and offered to the children by Santa Claus, who will visit them at the centers. We would like to thank the team for this. NRGO for the creation of the website.

The second campaign, "A Christmas Gift", is aimed at children aged between 3 and 11, who are in the care of foster parents. As part of this campaign, on December 13, from 5:00 PM, the show "The Three Little Pigs" will be performed for children at the Arcadia Hall, and in addition to the theatrical gift offered by the Arcadia Troupe, we launched a humanitarian appeal to several companies in the area, so that they can prepare a small Christmas gift for the children, which will be offered after the show by Santa Claus.
The entire program of the "Christmas in the Land of Puppets" event can be consulted on the Regina Maria Theater - Arcadia Troupe Facebook page and on the Regina Maria Theater website.
Let's create a fairytale Christmas together!
