CRIŞANA ARTISTIC ENSEMBLE, PRESENT AT EXPO 2012 YEOSU
The Romanian Culture Days at EXPO 2012 continue, between August 3-5, 2012, with performances by the Crişana artistic ensemble from Oradea – a true ambassador of traditional Romanian culture and folklore.
The ensemble presented itself at EXPO Yeosu with a vast repertoire including folk songs and dances from all over Romania from all ethno-folkloric areas: Bihor, Oaş, Transylvania, Banat, Muntenia, Moldova or Oltenia.
The series of performances at EXPO 2012 is supported by an orchestral group led by Petre Popa, dancers, as well as leading performers of Bihorian songs, such as Leontin Ciucur, Luminiţa Tomuţa and Cornel Borza.
„"We have in the program prepared for EXPO Yeosu an interesting instrument specific to the Bihor region - the violin with a horn - and melodies performed on the taragot or flute. We presented traditional folk customs through our dances and performances and we are glad that the Korean audience is so receptive and delighted with our show", explained the artistic director of the Crişana ensemble, Leontin Ciucur.
Visitors to the Romanian Pavilion are fascinated by the dancers' artistic movements and beautiful folk costumes, and at the end, those who dare are invited to dance. "Through such shows you really get to know the culture and traditions of a country. It's a truly beautiful show, and they are excellent artists. These dances are captivating, creating a special energy. From the very first moments I wanted to join this dance," says Na Hyun-ho, one of the many spectators.
The Romanian Pavilion promotes, through such performances, a more complete image of the country's artistic values and folkloric traditions.
