EVENING OF THE DAY – NOMINATIONS AT FTS 2015
The Oradea International Theatre Festival, held from September 19 to 27, 2015, announced on Sunday, September 27, the winners of the competition section of the 21st edition of the Short Theatre Festival. The performances were selected by critic Mircea Morariu, and the jury, consisting of Ion Parhon (theatre critic), Elisabeta Pop (theatre critic) and Oana Cristea-Grigorescu (journalist), had in mind three nominations for each category, from which they chose one winner.
Among the nominees are our colleagues, actors Răzvan Vicoveanu and Mihaela Gherdan, who were nominated for the "Best Actor" and "Best Actress" awards, respectively, for the roles of Gary and Cherry in the show SEARA DE AJUN, based on a text by Anthony Neilson, directed by Ovidiu Caița. At the same time, director Ovidiu Caița also received a nomination in the "Best Direction" section for this show.
The play by British playwright Anthony Neilson is a contemporary story, about people of our time, those who have not been spoiled by life at all. But if, for them, Christmas does not come with expensive gifts under a beautifully decorated tree, in the comfort of a quiet home, they will have something more important than all material goods.
For them, the miracle of Christmas will come in the form of re-humanization, of the reactivation of the sensitive chord that, we like to believe, continues to exist in all of us, even if it rarely vibrates.
