FITO is over, we're heading to festivals
The Oradea International Theatre Festival ended on Sunday, October 1, successfully after eight days of theatrical marathon in which we were able to enjoy a great cultural celebration. This year, the 27 theatre performances were almost entirely performed with full halls, and the applause and enthusiasm were in proportion. A year rich in both performances and related events. Thus, we laughed at comedies, got emotional at dramas, celebrated authors and met again with dear people, with prominent personalities of Romanian theatre and with wonderful spectators. Let's see each other at as many editions as possible from now on!
The theater festival has ended, but the 2017-2018 season of the Regina Maria Theater is now starting and promises many extraordinary surprises. The month of October is also dedicated to festivals. Between October 4 and 14, the Arcadia Troupe of the Regina Maria Theater will participate with the show "Gulliver" at two festivals in Brazil: the BONECOS DE CANELA International Theater Festival, now in its 29th edition, and the INTERCÂMBIO DE LINGUAGENS International Festival, now in its 15th edition and will take place in Rio de Janeiro.
The participation of the Oradea troupe in the aforementioned festivals reconfirms the importance of puppet theater as a form of artistic expressiveness and global cultural dialogue and also proves the value of the Arcadia Troupe, which has managed to assert itself internationally, transcending not only the borders of our country, but even that of the continent.
Also, the presence of the Arcadia Band at the two festivals in Brazil marks another essential thing, namely the fact that it is the first time that a state-subsidized cultural institution represents Romania at these major events.
The team that will start on October 4, with the determination to conquer the hearts of Brazilians, is made up of Daniel Vulcu – the general manager of the Regina Maria Theater, Radu Dinulescu – the director of the show, Zentania Lupșe – actress, Consuela Egyed – actress, Florian Silaghi – actor, Alexandru Pop – actor and Armand Richelet Kleinberg from Belgium – the creator of the 3D projections of the show „Gulliver”. We thank the Bihor County Council for the support it has given us in our endeavor.
The Regina Maria Theatre's journey does not stop here and on October 9th we will stop in Cluj Napoca with the show "Cafeneaua Pirandello", which will be hosted by the Romanian National Opera. From Cluj we head to Galați, where we will participate with the show "In full glory!" at the National Comedy Festival on October 13th.
The Arcadia troupe, after returning from its long trip to Brazil, will be performing at the International Puppet and Marionette Theatre Festival "Puck" with the show "Cinderella" on October 19 and at the MiniREACTOR Festival with the show "Small or Big?" on October 21, both taking place in Cluj Napoca. From Cluj, they will head to Timișoara, to the International Animation Festival "Under Merlin's Wand", with the show "Hungarian Folk Tales", which will be performed on October 24.
The Iosif Vulcan troupe will then pack their bags for a slightly longer tour, and the first stop will be in Bucharest, where we will participate in the National Theater Festival with the shows "Cafenaua Pirandello", which will be performed on October 24, and "Cabaretul Dada", which will be performed on October 25 and 26. From Bucharest, on the way home, we will stop at the "Elena Teodorini" International Festival organized by the Romanian Opera Craiova, with the show "Scripcarul pe cefruște", which will be performed on October 28.
But, even though we have a month full of festivals, we haven't forgotten about the people of Bihor, so we are looking forward to seeing them at the shows that will be played at home this month. Also, for those who won't be able to make it to Oradea, we are going to Marghita on October 15 with the show "In full glory!" and on October 17 with the show "Hungarian Folk Tales".
We are waiting for you at the theater and invite you to check out the October program on the website and Facebook page of the Regina Maria Theater.
