Happy birthday to actress Georgia Căprărin
Today is the birthday of our colleague, actress Georgia Căprărin. On the occasion of her birthday, she gave us a short interview in which she revealed a few things about her destiny in theater and in Oradea.
Passionate about literature and grammar as a child and teenager, Olympiad and a constant presence in literary creation competitions, Georgia followed the intensive English profile of a theoretical high school in Cluj Napoca. That was until the 10th grade, when she realized that her destiny was different. "I decided to move to the Octavian Stoici High School of Dramatic Art quite suddenly. It is true that I grew up in a family of artists, so the artistic environment was not foreign to me, but I had not thought until then about approaching theater, other than as a spectator," Georgia remembers.
"I felt, instead, that I had something to give to people. I had an inclination towards people, I felt that there was something inside me that I didn't know how to bring to light. Initially, I had thought about psychology, to help through therapy. Then I realized that theater is also a form of therapy," says Georgia. Among the teachers who guided her steps, she carries Melania Ursu in her heart. "Melania was like a mentor to me, since high school. I basically trained with her", Georgia explains. The college years followed, each with a series of different projects, the most beloved of all being a one-woman show, Infanta, user guide. "It's a project I did in my third year of college and I took it up again later, I redid it with a colleague who had finished directing, during my master's years. During that period, I got a job at the theater in Turda." She first arrived in Oradea in 2011, with the aforementioned project, within the Short Theatre Festival. In 2012, Georgia, who had been noticed in the festival, was called by director Traian Savinescu, for the title role in Snow White, a show staged at the Arcadia Theatre. From there, it was only a step to the stage of the Regina Maria Theatre. "Initially I didn't want to stay in Oradea, except for the duration of the project at Arcadia. Then I was offered to play in the show Brothel of the Regina Maria Theatre, and so, step by step, I stayed. I had the chance to find a theatre and a city whose cultural life was in full swing", says Georgia. Along with Infanta, her soulful role, the experience on the Oradea theater stage brought her two more beloved roles Naomi in the show The Key and Vera in the show FAD (Nodes and Plates).
"These days, I'm practically celebrating two anniversaries. Today I'm turning 30, and tomorrow, June 1, it's been six years since I've been in Oradea," Georgia explains. "I think that all of us, actors, do theater for that final moment, of applause. And in Oradea, we have a very warm audience. It is a true joy to have in front of us a mirror as beautiful as our audience. I also think that we are lucky, because we live several lives in one. And I know that I am on my path in life, I could not imagine a better one," says the actress.
Happy birthday, Georgia!
