Oradea students at "Let's Play!/Gyere għandhom!" with Romanian and Hungarian actors from the puppet theater troupes Arcadia and Lilliput
Over 40 third-grade students from the "Lorántffy Zsuzsanna" Reformed Theological High School and the "Emanuel" Baptist Theological High School met on Friday, May 30, at the Arcadia Theater, to discover the power of play that transcends languages and cultures.
During the bilingual workshop „"Let's play! - Gyere play!"”, the children – Romanian and Hungarian alike – worked with 10 actors (five from the Arcadia Troupe – Queen Maria Theatre and five from the Lilliput Troupe – Szigligeti Színház). Through improvisation exercises, classic games such as Samurai Warrior or The cordless phone and challenges designed especially for them, participants discovered that laughter and curiosity need no translation. The workshop encouraged spontaneity, empathy, and the courage to speak to others in their own language.
The event is organized by Arcadia Crew, The Lilliput Band and Eclectic Association and represents the second stage of the project THEATRE AND PLAY #TOGETHER/EGYÜTT, an initiative that aims to strengthen communities that are more united and receptive to novelty and diversity, using theater and play as a common language.
The activity was free of charge, a gift on the occasion of International Children's Day, underlining the organizers' commitment to making theater and play accessible to all. Through this initiative, the students received not only an educational and recreational experience, but also a symbol of the celebration of childhood, of the simple joy of exploring and playing together, beyond any social or linguistic barriers.
