FITO 2017 | DAY 3

The Oradea International Theater Festival continues with even more surprises! Today, September 23, a day full of extraordinary events awaits us, in which we will be able to enjoy four theater performances and a book launch.

The festival day begins with an event dedicated to theater and books. Mrs. Florica Ichim, theater critic and editor-in-chief of the magazine "Teatrul azi" launches the book „"Ciulei at home and in the world"”, a tribute to an overwhelming personality who, through his work, discreetly but profoundly enriched the world's theatrical culture. The launch will take place at the R&R bookstore on Republicii Street, from 4:00 PM.

From 5:00 PM, at the Bihor National Tourist Information and Promotion Center, we are waiting for you at the show „"Open"”, produced by the Reciprocă Association in partnership with the Fabrica de Pensule Federation and the GroundFloor Group Association and directed by Leta Popescu. The show addresses the theme of sexuality, putting modesty in parentheses and questioning the extent to which society and family install patterns in each of us that we can hardly break away from. It is not recommended for people under 16!

From 6:30 PM, at the Trade Unions' House of Culture, the "Ioan Slavici" Classical Theater Arad invites you to the show „"Our city", adapted from Thornton Wilder's play and directed by Cristian Ban, which, based on interviews, books and photographs from the History Museum's archive, mirrors scenes, characters and fascinating stories of the city of Arad.

From 7:00 PM, at the Great Hall of the Theater, „"The Chocolate Soldier"”, by George Bernard Shaw, directed by Andrei Șerban, staged at the Odeon Theater in Bucharest, invites us to heal ourselves through laughter from the illusions of false patriotism and the absurdity of our intentions and actions.

The evening will end with the show proposed by the Piatra Neamţ Youth Theater: „"An oak tree"”, by Tim Crouch, directed by Bobi Pricop, from 9:30 PM, at the Arcadia Hall. The beloved Oradea actor Richard Balint will take the stage, alongside the actor from the Piatra Neamţ theater, and he accepted the challenge of having his first encounter with the text right during the performance, in front of the audience.

Also, don't forget to stop by the foyer on the left of the main entrance to the theater before the shows in the Great Hall or during breaks where the "Reader's Corner" is located, decorated with a lot of bookish spirit by the R&R bookstores and coffeehouses.

Tickets are on sale at the Theatre Ticket Agency from Tuesday to Friday between 10:00 and 19:00, and on weekends between 10:00 and 13:00. You can also purchase tickets one hour before the show or online at www.biletmaster.roFor additional information and ticket reservations, please call: 0259/440.742.
