PRESS RELEASE | "Arcadia Stories Week" Begins

The Arcadia troupe of the Regina Maria Theater is preparing for the 3rd edition of the "Tales from Arcadia" Week, which will take place from April 20-27, 2024. The program, as every year, proposes an entertaining marathon of theater performances from the troupe's repertoire, the famous pajama story nights, a painting exhibition, which has nature as its theme, and art therapy workshops.

For seven days, the actors of the Arcadia Troupe will play multiple performances of the most famous titles from the troupe's repertoire, such as: "The Bremen Town Musicians", "Doctor Aumădoare", "The Curious Elephant", "Apolodor, the Traveling Penguin", "Vasilache and Mărioara", and for the youngest spectators: "Norr in the World of Colors".

If the shows "The Bremen Town Musicians" on April 20, "Norr in the World of Colors" on April 21, "Vasilache and Mărioara" on April 22 and "The Curious Elephant" on April 27 and the Pajama Story Nights are addressed to the general public, so that young spectators who love Arcadian stories can bring their parents, grandparents, and friends to the theater, some of the festival events are organized specifically for kindergartens and schools, complementing the activities they carry out within the "Green Week" program.

Encouraged to bring their pajamas, blanket and favorite plush toy, the little viewers will be able to spend this edition of magical evenings of… stories in pajamas. The first story evening will take place on Saturday, April 20, from 6:00 PM, at the Studio Arcadia Hall, where actors Armanca Serac and Alexandru Pop have prepared various surprises and wonderful stories for children. On April 21, from 6:00 PM, playful and full of life, actors Adela Lazăr and Florian Silaghi will interactively and entertainingly read the most beautiful stories in the world. Each evening will have its own charm and distinctive note.

Also, a new exhibition will be opened in the foyer of the Arcadia Theater: "Nature - Habitat", which presents a series of nine works by artist Mădălina Baciu. The exhibition falls within the theme of the "Green Week" program and encourages viewers to think about nature, the biotope and the importance of maintaining a balance in the living environment.

„"The diversity of this exhibition is both thematic and chromatic. We have exhibited figurative works, such as Puppy dynamics, which has as its main element the detail from the well-known futurist work of the artist Giacomo Balla or the work "Tango", both created during my student years; I also chose three works dear to me, with a floral theme, through which I tried to give a different perspective to plants, using their chromaticity and plasticity. My works urge the viewer to create a story, a game in which the imagination returns to childhood", adds Mădălina Baciu.

At the same time, also in the foyer of the Arcadia Theater, you can admire the exhibition "RecyclArt - from Trash to Art", which includes colorful and story-filled installation paintings created by painter Adela Lazăr, which also falls within the theme of the "Green Week" school program and proposes a playful and creative way to recycle.

The "Inside Out" art therapy workshops, which are aimed at middle school students, will be supported by school psychologist Ioana Drugaș and aim to understand emotional states through artistic expression. Students are invited to illustrate their inner states through painting, the valences offered to those states will be analyzed and strategies for optimizing affective states will be identified.

"I can't figure out what's in his head!/I can't figure out what's in his soul! We are familiar with such exclamations, because today's young people develop an inner life that is as rich as it is unknown (imperceptible) to those around them.. "Did you know that even a bully can have untold suffering? Did you know that even the most successful student has many and intense struggles? Art therapy is a tool that psychoeducation specialists use precisely for this purpose, to investigate the emotional states of students with the aim of emotional ventilation and healing," says Ioana Drugaș.

Students from the "Iuliu Maniu" and "Don Orione" Greek-Catholic High Schools in Oradea will participate in the workshops.

There are very few tickets left for the shows on sale and for the pajama story nights, and they can be found at the theater agency and online at Eventim.ro.

We look forward to seeing you at the "Arcadia Stories Week"!
