PRESS RELEASE | MEMORIES… EXPERIENCES… POEMS… – a soul-to-soul meeting with actor Eugen Țugulea
The Regina Maria Theater has the honor of announcing a new recital performance by actor Eugen Țugulea, laureate of the UNITER award for a life dedicated to theater and poetry: "Memories... Experiences... Poems..." (from "Miorița" to "Balada neamului meu"), which will take place on Tuesday, March 21, from 7:00 PM, at the Arcadia Hall, also marking International Poetry Day.
It has already become a tradition for actor Eugen Țugulea to dedicate a recital with verses chosen mainly from Romanian poetry to the Oradea audience who love poetry:
«I gave my first poetry performance in 1969, after I had resigned from the management of the theater: "Popular Ballads and Gypsy Songs", which included a selection of popularly inspired ballads and a collage of texts taken from Miron Radu Paraschivescu's debut volume. I wanted to do another one with the most beautiful love poems, but I gave up. After a short break of about 30 years, in 1999, just before my retirement, the year 2000 was declared "International Eminescu Year" by UNESCO, so I decided to do an Eminescu recital. I performed the performance in about 10 towns in Hungary, where Romanian-born audiences probably heard Eminescu recited for the first time. Other recitals followed, including last year's one with poets from Oradea. In total, we gave 10 recitals with verses by Romanian poets, the only one with foreign poetry being "On a happy man, years in a row...", a tribute show to Michelangelo Buonarroti," recalls Eugen Țugulea.
This year, the show has a deeply sentimental side, as it gathers verses from the recitals given over time by the actor Eugen Țugulea. The lyrical moments will be pigmented with memories and feelings to which each poem is linked, told with much meaning and humor.
«"Memories... Feelings... Poems..." I want it to be a reunion between the one who offered to tell Romanian poetry and the poetry lovers from Oradea, I want it to be a soul-to-soul meeting. The poems will be related to events related to poetry", confesses Eugen Țugulea.
He will recite verses by the poets: Miron Radu Paraschivescu, Mihai Eminescu, George Topîrceanu, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Nichita Stănescu, Tudor Arghezi, Octavian Goga and George Coșbuc.
The price of a ticket is 10 lei, a single price. Tickets can be purchased from the theater agency, open Tuesday and Thursday, between 12:00-18:00, Wednesday and Friday, between 10:00-14:00 and Saturday between 11:00-13:00, one hour before the show at the Arcadia Hall or online at Eventim.ro
