Press release | Two performances by the Iosif Vulcan Troupe selected at the National Theatre Festival
The Regina Maria Theater is pleased to announce that it will participate in the 31st edition of the National Theater Festival with two performances by the Iosif Vulcan Troupe: ""Three tall women", by Edward Albee, directed by Diana Păcurar and "The legacy of luck", by Thanasis Papathanasiou and Mihalis Reppas, directed by Radu Nichifor.
The selection was made this edition by critics Oana Cristea Grigorescu, Cristina Rusiecki and Claudiu Groza, who chose 38 shows from the country, which fell within the concept: "Creation. Recreation. Re-creation", which also subsumes the FNT sections.
The show "Three Tall Women" can be found in the section Creation.Feminine, a sub-section dedicated to the creation of female directors, "an unprecedented artistic achievement in the history of the local scene" (Claudiu Groza), and "Legacy of Luck" in the section vacationing, which "tries to capture a portrait of the world in parodic, comical touches, even with black humor, but not in an easy way, but as a kind of our reaction through a smile to the bizarre times we live in" (Claudiu Groza).
The National Theater Festival will take place from November 6-14, 2021, in an online format, due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic and, in addition to the 38 performances in the country, its program will also include performative installations, visual installations, productions from abroad and related events, as well as a commemorative section dedicated to the artist and UNITER president Ion Caramitru.
Congratulations to the Oradea theater and the teams that brought the two shows to life!
