Between February 24-26, 2012, Romania, represented by the Professional Artistic Ensemble “CRIŞANA”, was the guest of honor at the Miskolc Dumpling Festival, the first winter festival and the fifth largest festival in Hungary.

The Romanian programs were provided by the ICR Budapest, in collaboration with the Romanian Peasant Museum. Along with Romania, the local guests of honor were the Abaúj-Hegyalja region and the town of Mád.

Under the patronage of HE Mr. Victor Alexandru Micula, the Romanian Ambassador to Budapest and Mr. Gergely Prőhle, Undersecretary of State at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with local and county authorities, the ICR Budapest and the Segedin Branch, as well as representatives of the Romanian community in Hungary, the festival offered a varied program, including music of different genres, from the folklore show of the Crişana Ensemble from Oradea, to the old music show with the Trei parale band and the rock'n roll-funky-blues concert by Iulian Canaf and the Excentric Blues Band from Iaşi, then the Romanian Film Days with a Wedding in Basarabia, Filantropica, Lugosi Bela – The Fallen Vampire, exhibitions of modern art – Roman Tolici with Nobody and of traditional Orthodox art with the icon Radu Dincă, book launches – The Millionaire's Book, Houses with Stories, The Frontiersmen in Hungarian translation, to which are added the presence of 10 Romanian craftsmen from various areas presenting Romanian gastronomy (mititei, sausages, cakes), beekeeping products, ceramics, fabrics, braids, wooden toys.

The Romanian artists were seen by a large audience and enjoyed a well-deserved success.
