"THE KNIGHT OF THE SAD FIGURE" CONQUERED THE HEARTS OF THE GALÁTIAN PUBLIC

Stormy applause and awards for the Oradea theater at the XXVIIIth edition of the National Comedy Festival, organized by the "Fani Tardini" Dramatic Theater in Galati. The Regina Maria Theater participated in the festival with the show "The Man of La Mancha", by Dale Wasserman, directed by György Korcsmáros and returned home crowned with laurels: three of the ten awards were won by the Oradea show.

Thus, the decoration award is awarded to the Israeli Paul Salzberger, the costume award went to Amalia Judea, who provided the outline through the spectacular decor and impressive costumes of the Oradea musical, and audience award is won by the show "with an extraordinary display of strength" (Victor Cilincă "Free Life"): THE MAN FROM LA MANCHA.

The Galati National Comedy Festival, with a 40-year tradition in the Romanian cultural landscape, opened its doors on Saturday, November 5 and ended yesterday, November 13, 2016, offering a true theatrical regal to the people of Galati.

The selector of this edition of the Comedy Festival was the theater critic Alice Georgescu, and the jury was made up of the theater critic Doina Papp, the theater columnist and cultural journalist Gabriela Lupu, the director Radu Dinulescu, the set designer Vioara Bara, the actor and writer Cornel (Mimi) Brănescu and Prof. Zanfir Ilie, the manager of the "VA Urechia" library, advisor to the Culture Commission of the Local Council.

We thank the Galați audience for the love with which they welcome us every year. We are honored and happy with the awards that have been given to us and we set off gloriously towards other adventures and other conquests… of hearts.

The program of performances will be supported by a series of other events that will transform FITO into a meeting place between artists, professionals in the field of performing arts and the public.
