THEATRE IN HIGH SCHOOL_project launched by the Iosif Vulcan Troupe
The Regina Maria Theater launched the THEATRE IN HIGH SCHOOL project in December!
The project is aimed at high schools in Oradea and aims to establish 5 theater groups in 5 high schools, with students in grades 9th, 10th and 11th.
Four high schools have already signed up for the program and there is only one spot left. Registrations can be made until January 28, 2022, with the caveat that each candidate must send a list of the number of students interested in these activities and assume the existence of a space within the high school that is conducive to holding rehearsals.
On February 4, the list of the five chosen high schools will be published, and the theater troupes from each high school will be selected and formed.
Working period: February 10 – May 31, 2022
Activities calendar:
- February 10-April 7, 2022: introductory workshops in performing arts, 5 sessions, one 2-hour session per week, and the choice of a dramatic text that will form the basis for the production of a theater performance;
- April 8 – June 8: rehearsals for the show set in each high school – 12 work sessions.
Both the workshops and rehearsals will take place in the rooms provided by the high schools. The theater will provide the costumes and props necessary for each performance.
The performances will be performed during the first edition of the Oradea High School Theater Gala, as part of the Oradea International Theater Festival.
This project is intended to be a pilot one and depending on the success of the first edition and the interest shown by Oradea high schools, we plan to continue it in 2023 with the inclusion of another 5 high schools from Oradea in the program.
