THE REGINA MARIA THEATRE OPENS THE BARRIER-FREE FESTIVAL IN SATU MARE
Between May 18 and 27, 2012, the Satu Mare North Theater organizes the 6th edition of the International Multicultural Festival WITHOUT BARRIERS.
This edition takes place 120 years after the inauguration of the theater building (which will soon enter into consolidation and restoration works) and will present performances in four locations: the Great Hall and the Studio Hall, the open-air stage located in front of the Firefighters' Tower and the one in the courtyard of the Art Museum. Theater and musical groups from Bucharest, Budapest, Oradea, Petroşani, Debrecen, Târgu Mureş, Szeged, Miercurea Ciuc, Sfântu Gheorghe, Reşiţa or Bacău will appear before the Satu Mare audience.
The Regina Maria Theatre has the special honor of participating with two performances in this year's festival. Thus, on Friday, May 18, from 6:00 PM, at the Great Hall of the Northern Theatre Satu Mare, we will open the festival with the highly successful performance “The Fiddler on the Roof” (by Sholom Aleichem, artistic direction Korcsmaros Gyorgy). And on Saturday, May 19, from 7:00 PM, the “Iosif Vulcan” Troupe will perform the award-winning performance at the 2011 FTS, “Biloxi Blues” (by Neil Simon, artistic direction Ovidiu Caiţa).
Hungarian subtitles are provided for both shows.
The Oradea theater participated in this festival last year, also with two performances: “La Grande Magia” (by Eduardo de Filippo, artistic direction Alexandru Colpacci) and “Soare pentru doi” (by Pierre Sauvil, artistic direction Daniel Vulcu).
This invitation to participate in the Satu Mare Festival is the first of its kind in a long line of festivals that we will have the honor of presenting at this end of the season. Next up is the participation in Arad, at the Euromarionete Festival on Saturday, May 26 (with the show “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”), then the “Pretty Girls, Good Fairies and Ilene Cosânzene” Festival in Petroşani, where we will also participate with the show with 3D sets, “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”, and finally it is the turn of “The Fiddler on the Roof” to open the International “Atelier” Festival in Baia Mare, on June 3.

The Regina Maria Theatre announces the premiere of the show "Deșteptarea", a contemporary text by Doru Vatavlui, directed by Bobi Pricop, which will take place on January 17 and 18, 2026, from 7:00 PM, in the theatre's Great Hall. The show is specifically dedicated to the adolescent audience, but is also addressed to parents, teachers and all those interested in how the digital world influences identity formation and relationships between generations.

On the 50th anniversary of the first theater festival in Oradea – Short Theatre Week, the Regina Maria Theatre announces the selection of the 10th edition of the Oradea International Theatre Festival (FITO), financed by the Bihor County Council, which will take place between 11–20 September 2026. This year's anniversary edition brings to the fore a broad and diverse program, built around the two already established sections: the 28th edition of the Short Theatre Festival and the 6th edition of the Arcadia Children's Theatre Festival, which resumes after an 8-year break. The program of performances will be supported by a series of other events that will transform FITO into a meeting place between artists, professionals in the field of performing arts and the public.
